FAQ

You probably have many questions. Here are the most common ones. Didn’t find the answer to your question?

Send me a message or give me a call. I also recommend reviewing the Terms and Conditions for more details.

  1. What is the price of wedding photography/videography?

I’d be happy to send you an estimated price list by email. If none of the listed packages fit your needs, I’ll gladly create a custom offer just for you. Could you let me know the date and location of your wedding? My pricing varies slightly depending on whether the wedding is in the US, UK, EU, or elsewhere, and rates may also differ between high and low seasons.

  2.  The prices seem high. Is there any discount available?

I prefer to create offers based on your specific needs. Please let me know your budget, and we might be able to work something out. Generally, the best prices are available when booking a year or two in advance. I also sometimes hold special promotions or competitions, so I recommend following me on social media. If we still can’t meet your budget, I’ll be happy to recommend a more affordable colleague from our team or one of our partners.

  3.  We’re not sure if 10 hours of photography/videography will be enough. What do you think?

In my experience, 10 hours of wedding coverage is usually enough to capture all the important moments. Each wedding is unique, though, so we can always arrange extra hours, either in advance or even on the wedding day. I’ll be happy to help with your wedding schedule – the timing really depends on when your ceremony starts, whether it’s in the morning or afternoon. There may also be cases where I can leave a bit earlier if all key moments have been captured and there is nothing more to document.

  4.  We’re planning a wedding abroad/destination wedding/elopement. How does it work with travel and accommodation?

Since I work worldwide as a destination wedding photographer and love to travel, we can always arrange things individually. Please let me know the locations you have in mind. If it’s a longer trip, for example, more than 4 hours of driving or an international flight, I’d appreciate the possibility of overnight accommodation before or after the wedding, though it’s not required.

  5.  We’re planning a wedding by the sea. How does it work with travel and accommodation?

I love beach weddings! There’s a difference, however, between weddings on European beaches, which are more easily accessible to me by car or plane (as I spend more than half of the year in Europe), and weddings in places like Mauritius, Bali, or the Caribbean, where travel costs are naturally higher. I highly recommend choosing your favorite photographer rather than hiring an unfamiliar person suggested by a wedding agency. Some venues may attempt to charge extra fees for "outside photographers." It’s usually best to simply say that your photographer is another guest or a friend – this approach can sometimes save on fees, and it might even help cover the cost of my flight! :) I’m always happy to combine a wedding with a holiday and enjoy some time in a warm climate!

  6.  How does the reservation process work? Is there a deposit?

You can check available dates by messaging me, emailing me at info@tomasmichna.com, or calling. Once you decide to book, know the prices, and have chosen a package, the next step is to sign a contract. After approval, you’ll sign the contract and pay a reservation deposit to confirm the date.

  7.  We decided to cancel/reschedule the wedding for personal reasons. Can we get a refund?

Detailed information on cancellations is outlined in the contract and Terms and Conditions. The reservation deposit is non-refundable, and in the case of a date change, a new reservation deposit will be required. On the other hand, if I have to cancel for some serious reason, you will get back all the money sent.

  8.  We’re unsure if the wedding will take place due to COVID-19 (or a storm, tornado, volcano eruption). Can we get a refund?

Personal concerns about health or weather unfortunately don’t qualify for a refund. Full details about cancellations are available in the contract and Terms and Conditions. For weddings in exotic locations with high-risk factors, I recommend good insurance coverage. If government regulations directly prevent your wedding from taking place on your date, you may reschedule at no extra charge.

  9.  Is it necessary to meet before the wedding? How long does such a meeting take?

It’s entirely up to you whether you’d like to meet beforehand. Personally, I prefer to meet or have an online call 1-2 months before the wedding, as you’ll likely have most of your planning done by then. We can discuss your ideas and the schedule in more detail. A meeting can be as short as 10 minutes or last up to an hour, depending on your needs. We can also combine it with an engagement photoshoot so you get a feel for what a session with me is like. I highly recommend doing a pre-wedding shoot.

  10.  How are the photos/videos delivered, and how long does it take?

Delivery is usually electronic, via a download link, or on a USB drive if preferred. Delivery time varies throughout the year, and the estimated timeframe is stated in the contract. We process orders in sequence, typically within 4-12 weeks after the wedding.

  11.  A 12-week delivery time seems really long. Why does it take that long? Can we get it sooner?

Our work truly starts after the wedding day. Editing photos and videos is time-consuming, and if you want results like those on my website, it’s worth the wait. We also process weddings in the order they were done, so there are often other couples and clients ahead of you. However, if necessary, expedited processing can be arranged for an additional fee, and I’ll gladly pull a few all-nighters if that’s what it takes.

  12.  Is there a way to review your work?

Absolutely! If you were satisfied, I’d greatly appreciate an honest review. You can leave one on Google. However, if there was anything you were dissatisfied with, please let me know first – I’m here to make things right!
